Shenzhen American International School (SAIS) is a Cognia-accredited institution that was established in May 2005 with the approval of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China and the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education. In May 2023, it obtained candidate school status for the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and IB Diploma Programme (DP), aiming to provide high-quality, pure American education for children of Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, and foreign nationals.

In Shenzhen, SAIS is a pioneer in project-based learning, currently offering courses from preschool for three-year-olds up to High school. SAIS follows American educational standards and employs IB PYP framework to help students to inquire, while also fostering collaboration, communication skills, creativity, and critical thinking beyond subject knowledge.

The school’s campus is well-equipped and is located adjacent to the Shekou Youth Activity Center and Shekou Sports Center, providing ample space for various indoor and outdoor sports activities. SAIS is situated west of Sihai Park, which covers an area of 13.5 hectares and serves as a learning laboratory for studying plants, animals, climate, air, water quality, and microbial environments.
